DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (FDP) ON CURRICULUM & TECHNOLOGY
(Seven
Days, 05/01/2017 to 11/01/2017)
Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) are especially important for enhancing the academic and intellectual
environment in the Institutions by providing faculty members with enough
opportunities to pursue research and teaching. Participation in such programmes
would enable faculty members to update their research and pedagogical skills. Overall,
the aim of all these training programs is to support higher educators in
adapting to changing missions of teaching and to enhance the efficiency and
performance of their teaching skills while improving work satisfaction and teaching
confidence by developing good teachers.
The key features
of this programme is the technological integration of the curriculum design and
development strategies with high priority to experiential learning, provision
of feedback, effective peer and colleague relationships, well-designed
interventions in accordance with the principles of adult learning theory, and
the use of diverse teaching and learning methods. The programme also intends to
promote confidence in the situational management & decision making skills
of the teachers by giving professional management training. The FDP programme
can be a powerful tool to constitute a positive institutional climate and
collegiality among teachers working in higher education.
ABOUT
THE PROGRAMME
The main
objective of the FDP in “Curriculum & Technology” is to upgrade the teaching,
training and content development skills of teachers in higher education. The
programme enables the participants to develop competence to understand recent
advancement in teaching methodology, research, pedagogies, effective
presentation techniques, and behavioural skills to be an effective faculty. The
programme equips the faculty with the latest tools and techniques for effective
teaching and training through discussions, group work, lectures, workshop
exercises, assignments, projects. The programme creates value orientation among
teachers while adopting technology in classrooms.
OBJECTIVES
The specific objectives of this
programme is to
- Develop an appreciation for the professional development of teachers in view of changing roles and responsibilities of higher education in the 21st century
- Understand the significance of alignment amongst the fundamental elements of effective teaching and learning
- Integrate the latest technological advancement in curriculum design and learning
- Comprehend easier ways to integrate the latest technological tools in one’s classroom teaching
- Get motivated to publish in top-notch journals by understanding the expectations and basics of indexing and citations
ELIGIBILITY/
TARGET GROUP
The teachers
working in various university departments, autonomous colleges, affiliated
colleges of the country are eligible to apply. Preferences will be given to
those teachers working in universities or colleges under Sections 2(f) and 12 B
of the UGC Act, 1956.
PROGRAMME
DATES
The Faculty
Development Programme (FDP) is scheduled from 5th January 2017 to 11th
January 2017. The sessions will start at 9.30 am every day and will end at 4.30
pm.
SESSIONS
There will be
four sessions in every day. So altogether there are 28 sessions which include
Introductory, Valedictory, Examination, Local Sightseeing, Curriculum Development,
Feedback and Reflections other than the Regular training sessions by the
Resource persons
